Admitting yourself to a rehab center can be an emotional challenge, but calling Free by the Sea is the first step on your road to recovery. Whether or not you are calling for yourself or on behalf of a loved one, our highly trained staff understands the distress you may feel, and they are prepared to help you to the best of their ability.

We know that drug and alcohol abuse creates a seemingly irrevocable and destructive downward spiral for the users and the people around them. The crisis that results from this could motivate you to call Free by the Sea for assistance. Sometimes a call to a rehabilitation facility is a last resort of desperation. While you might feel worried or hopeless, we have taken many phone calls from people just like you.

In your first conversation over the phone, we will encourage you to share any details about the history of drug or alcohol abuse, or both, as well as other behaviors. The information will help determine if you or your loved one needs treatment and, if so, what type of treatment will be most beneficial for recovery.

We will ask you to provide some demographic details and ask you questions about the state of your or your loved one’s emotional and physical health and support network. You will also need to discuss any health insurance and financial resources available, so it is helpful to have these details available.

Following this first phone call, we generally conduct an in-depth admissions evaluation. The assessment can take between one and two hours, during which we will gather the information necessary to get you or your loved one ready for admission into our program. This evaluation is done over the phone.

If we determine that you or your loved one need treatment, you will receive an offer for admission into one of our programs. The admission process will only proceed after you agree to it, and you will receive a contract for the service. We understand that this may be a difficult time in your life, but we assure you and your family that the staff at Free by the Sea are dedicated to meeting your needs and assisting you throughout your or your loved one’s recovery.
